On December 29, 1939, Mrs. Kate Fite Smullins formed our organization as the Tahlequah Chapter. The chapter's name was later changed to Cherokee Capital Chapter, to better represent the city of Tahlequah. Our chapter includes members from many of the surrounding communities.
