About Us
On December 29, 1939, Mrs. Kate Fite Smullins formed our organization as the Tahlequah Chapter. The chapter's name was later changed to Cherokee Capital Chapter, NSDAR, to better represent the city of Tahlequah. Our chapter includes members from many of the surrounding communities.
Tahlequah is one of the most historically significant cities west of the Mississippi. Our region boasts of sparkling lakes and rivers, with beautiful hills and valleys. We have many historic attractions including:
